Portland, city of roses
Portland is known as “Rose City”, and they have a very beautiful rose garden open to the public. We had a rare sunny day so Romola and I went for a visit.
The spring weather has been very bad, and rose growth is behind schedule. Also, there is some damage to the more delicate petals. Nevertheless, there were enough roses for me to fully utilize my new digital camera. I managed to select some, shown in the album below.
Note also the image which shows some of downtown and Mt. Hood in the background. Beautiful place, Portland.

Portland, Rose Garden
Thanks for sharing. Love seeing Portland through the Laninga lense. This time of year I recall signing Anna up for swiming lessons at Reed College in June, just a school was out. I could not believe how lucky we were to get in the first session. Once we showed up on June 15th I realized how silly I was. She had her lessons while I sat in the stands in a rain suit with an umbrella. Learned that lesson. However, July 4th it all changes. The most beautiful summers I have experienced. Don’t forget Sauvie Island(sp?) while you are there. Just N. of the city. A sorta truck farm island where you can pick whatever is in season.
